AWAKEN | DAY 13
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”ISAIAH 41:10
I really hate to admit to this, but fear is a very real thing. I’m convinced it is more than an internal feeling and not just something “in your head.” Fear is the opposite of faith. Fear is debilitating and will paralyze you. If we aren’t careful, fear will cripple both our actions and reactions to God’s call on our lives.
My wife and I have both experienced fear many times. In fact, most people I have counseled with have struggles with some type of fear — fear of the unknown, fear of the “what ifs,” fear of the future because of the past, etc. And, this is what I’ve learned: To overcome fear, you must confess God’s Word in faith again and again. Let today’s Scripture remind you of God’s promise. The God of all, the undefeated champion of the world is on your side, and all fear must submit to His authority and dominion.
Thank you, God, for your promises. I am incredibly grateful and comforted to know that you are with me, you are holding me, and that you will strengthen me. Lord, by your authority, I refuse to allow fear to dominate my thoughts or paralyze my faith.
